Ed Cassity Obituary

Ed J. Cassity, age 78, of Glenwood, passed away July 9, 2025. He was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on November 22, 1946, to the late Martin M. Cassity and June Johnson Cassity. After high school, Ed served in the United States Marine Corps. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Linda of 46 years, his son Stephen Eric Cassity, and his two brothers, George and William Cassity. Ed was fun loving and well liked. He had his own company selling insurance under State Farm, a career that spanned 52 years. His other passions included golf, and playing poker. Ed loved poker and played in many tournaments at the Maryland Live Casino. He loved being with his children and grandchildren. Ed was able to celebrate fourth of July with his family this year outside, eating all of his favorite barbecue foods. Ed is survived by his loving children, Wes (Mary) Cassity of Texas, Jennifer (Jeff) Brent of Odenton, and Christopher " Mac" Cassity of Glenwood. He is also survived by his brother Martin Macurdy Cassity Jr., his 7 grandchildren; Kristen (Jason), Stephanie, Erin, Maddy, Cece, Brittany, and Wesley, his 4 great grandchildren; Meadow, Nyomi, Ava, and Juniper. In addition, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD, 21784, on Tuesday July 15, 2025, with a visitation from 10-12, and a service at 12:00 PM. Interment at Crest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Ed's name to Cancer Research institute https://give.cancerresearch.org Online condolences can be made at www.haightfuneralhome.com

Sorry to hear about Ed´ passing, he was a very nice guy & always enjoyed seeing him & talking to him, he was our 2nd agent after Mr . Wall retired, will surely be missed
