John Cook, Jr. Obituary

John Thomas Cook, Jr., 90, passed away on October 24, 2024. He was born on July 27, 1934 in Baltimore to the late John and Catherine Cook. John was a proud Air Force Veteran, having dedicated his service to his country with honor and distinction. An individual of vibrant spirit, John found great joy in running and actively pursued this passion throughout his life. He particularly loved spending time at the amusement parks, where the thrill of roller coasters brought a smile to his face. His appreciation for nature was evident during his visits to Longwood Gardens, where he found solace among the beauty of flowers and plants. John was also a devoted fan of Notre Dame Football, often sharing his enthusiasm for the game with fellow fans and family. John's legacy is marked by the kindness he extended to all who knew him. His generosity was reflected not only in his actions but also in the warm relationships he forged over the years.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Cook; his children, Michele Scardina (Jim), John Cook III (Maria), Robert Cook (Susan), Joseph Cook (Donna) and Kristin Weed (Jon); his grandchildren, Shawn, Joseph, Johnny, Andrea, Edward, Alex, Tommy, Evan and Kai; his great-grandchildren, Shawn Jr., Sophia, Allison, Layla, Caden, Isabella, Zoey, Mia and John; and his sister, Rosalie McGuire. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Antoinnette Cook (nee Camenzuli), his daughter, Antoinette Cook and his sister, Mary Labrador.

The family will receive visitors at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Ave. SW (at Crain Hwy) on Tuesday, October 29th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
