Marcia Ellsworth Wingo

Marcia Ellsworth "Mama" Wingo, 96, of Woodbine, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at home. She was born on March 27, 1929, in Evanston, IL to the late Charles West Ellsworth and Gladys Roberta Seager Ellsworth. She was the wife of the late Henry Thomas Wingo who died in 2010. Marcia was a graduate of The American University, Washington, DC where she majored in English and Literature. She was a homemaker and mother to her two children and was known to her family as "Mama". She was a veracious reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and loved cats. She also enjoyed watching cooking and religious shows. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Wingo of Woodbine; former daughter-in-law Jackie Houck Wingo of Taneytown; grandchildren whom she was close to Jesse Price and wife Shannon and their children Jesse and Remi, Joshua Price, Anna Ruby and her daughter Lucille, Emma Ruby and Brooke Bildstein in addition to several additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephew David Nelson Ellsworth, Andrew Gardner Ellsworth and niece Marcia Ellsworth Horstman. She was predeceased by her son James Thomas Wingo (1961-2015) and brothers Gaylord, Bud and John Ellsworth. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD. Interment will be private.
