Michael Edward Schmidt, 84, of Pasadena, passed away at his home on December 1, 2024. He was born in Baltimore on September 4, 1940. After an impressive 53 years, he retired as a point of salesman with Reliable Churchill, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. Michael’s passion for life extended beyond his profession; he found joy in the simple pleasures, whether it was relishing a game of Bingo with friends at the Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands Senior Center or savoring his morning ritual of coffee and breakfast at McDonald's. Above all, he cherished the time spent with family and friends, creating bonds that were warm and lasting. The precious memories he created with his late wife, Linda, was a testament to his deep devotion and enduring love they shared.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 56 years, Linda Carol Schmidt; father, Edward Schmidt; and his mother and stepfather, Edward Francis and Eleanor Marie Bitner.
He is survived by his devoted children, Michael Anthony and Michelle Ann Schmidt, Melissa Anne Schmidt Fruits and Jeffery Fruits; cherished grandchildren, Anthony Michael Schmidt and Leanne Schmidt, Kayla Corin Migliorisi and Amanda Migliorisi, Mark Shearer, Michael “Trey” Schmidt, Carter Fruits, and Amber and Christopher O’Brien; loving great-grandchildren, Vanessa Schmidt, Alexis Schmidt, Iris Schmidt, Kaden Migliorisi and Skylar Schmidt. He will also be missed by his brother, Edward Francis and Mary Louise Bitner; and his niece, Emily Bitner.
Family and friends may gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, Glen Burnie, on Sunday, December 15th, from 2 – 4 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at 4 PM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be in his name to the Baltimore County Lansdowne-Baltimore Highlands Senior Center, 424 3rd Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21227.
