Celebration Of Life

Sparrows Point Country Club
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pat Janssen, a loving, dedicated husband, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, who left us on June 3, 2025 at the age of 76. Pat was born on December 9, 1948 to the late Louis and Doris Keener Janssen. Pat was the beloved, cherished husband of his devoted wife of 42 years Debra Ann Nowicki Janssen. Pat's life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering spirit of generosity, loyalty, honesty, integrity and compassion.
His career as a carpenter, structural superintendent and engineer was distinguished by hard work and strong moral and ethical standards such as fairness, respect, and responsibility. His hands were not only skilled for the job, but were always ready to fix and build for everyone around him. He was truly a "jack of all trades" with a heart of gold. He was both versatile and resourceful.
A man of many interests, Pat found joy in the simple pleasures of life. In addition, accumulating collector cars especially Corvettes was not just a hobby but a passion. He enjoyed attending car shows and auctions with friends notably Carlisle and Barrett-Jackson and he fine-tuned "The Art of the Deal". Another passion was flying his Decathlon airplane. He mastered a wide range of aerobatic maneuvers.
Those who knew Pat would describe him as selfless, wise, proud, brilliant, kind hearted and bluntly honest. There was no pretense with Pat. He was a man of strong character and quick wit with a zeal for life, fast cars and airplanes, and a sense of adventure. Pat was strong and courageous especially with his battle with autoimmune diseases, pulmonary fibrosis, kidney end-stage renal failure and congestive heart failure. He never complained and suffered silently.
Pat's passing leaves a void in the world; however, his spirit remains in the hearts of those who loved and knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with affection and admiration. May he finally be out of pain and rest in peace.
To honor Pat's memory a Celebration of Life will be held at the Sparrows Point Country Club (where he was married to Debra 42 ½ years ago), 919 Wise Avenue, Dundalk 21222 on Sunday September 14, 2025 from 11:00-3:00 pm. Lite fare served. Please RSVP to Debra at dnjanssen55@yahoo.com by August 24.
As we gather to reminisce and honor Pat, we welcome all who were touched by him. Your presence will contribute to his memory and the remarkable man he was.
