Mrs. Peggy Jean Sellers

Peggy Jean Sellers (née Cooper), age 92, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on November 11, 1932, in Round Hill, Virginia, Peggy devoted 37 years to Ma & Pa Bell/Verizon Telephone Company. Peggy lived a long and fulfilling life marked by dedication to her work, her family, and her community. Her dedication to the telecommunications industry was a testament to her strong work ethic and steadfast commitment. After retiring, she continued giving back by volunteering for ten years with the AARP Safe Driving Program as a trainer and coordinator, helping promote road safety through education and outreach. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Lynn Sellers, and her grandson, Matthew Lynn Sellers, and her siblings, Millard Cooper, William Cooper, Lennox Cooper, Martin Cooper, Betty Cooper Howes, Craig Cooper. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Brian (Mary Lee) Sellers, Renda (Dennis) Curran, and Doobie (Jackie) Sellers; grandchildren: Codey (Genna) Sellers, Trevor (Lindsey) Sellers, Nicholas Sellers, Matthew (Samantha) Curran, Kelly (Jonathan) Fritz, and Jeff Curran; and great-grandchildren: Sawyer Sellers, Dawson Sellers, Ozzy Sellers, Romy Sellers, Cora Fritz, Iris Fritz, and Noah Curran, and her brother Charlie Cooper. Peggy's life was defined by service-both in her career and volunteer efforts-and she leaves behind a legacy of dedication that continues to inspire those who knew her. Peggy was known for her beautiful spirit, warm heart, and kind nature. These qualities touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. A life so beautifully lived will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on October 4 at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd, Sykesville, MD. Viewing prior to the service from 10:30-11:30.
