Christopher Johnson Obituary
He was born Nov. 30, 1977 in Bedford to Ronald Joe (Beth) Johnson of Medora and Melinda Ray Weddell (Morris) Hypes of Campbellsburg. On Dec. 30 1999, he married the former Dusty Marie Wilkerson in Sparksville, and she survives.
He was a member of Milan First Baptist Church of Milan. He was a machinist mate one in the U.S. Navy and served 12 years in the navy. He served on the USS Eisenhower and the USS Roosevelt.
Mr. Johnson graduated from Medora High School in 1996 and attended Purdue University. He received his associate degree from Thomas Edison in Norfolk, Va. He loved fishing and spending time with his family.
Other survives include a son, Hudson Johnson of Newport News, Va.; two daughters, Dalea Johnson and Mackenzie Johnson, both of Newport News, Va.; a sister, Amanda Wayman of Medora; maternal grandparents, Don and Donna Weddell of Medora; great-grandmother, Myrtle Weddell of Medora; several stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Carl "Cricket" and Dorothy Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, at the Medora Christian Church, Medora, with Pastor Dennis Temple and Pastor Greg Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Proctor Cemetery in Lawrence County, with graveside military rites.
Friends may call at the church from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 23, and from 9 a.m. Friday until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Gideon's International or the Chris Johnson Scholarship Fund in care of Hague Funeral Home, P.O. Box 280, Medora, Ind. 47260.
Hague Funeral Home, Medora, is in charge of arrangements.
