Edward Mulberry Obituary
Edward Norman Mulberry, 87, of Brownstown, died at 10:15 am on Wednesday June 17,2009 at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. He was born March 20, 1922 in Detroit, MI to Richard Ray and Julia Esther Cashdollar Mullberry, who both preceded him in death. He married Audra Wingler on June 4, 1976, and she preceded him in death. He is survived by five children, Robert Eugene (Barbara) Mulberry of Westfield, IN; Linda Sue (Charles) Greger of Brownstown, IN; Teresa Lynn (Tom) Dunbar of Brownstown, IN; Ruth Anne (Richard) Hehman of Columbus, IN; and Pamela Kaye (Brian) Humphrey of Princeton, Minnesota. Also surviving are three step-sons, Rick Wingler of South Carolina, David Wingler of Vallonia, and Gary Wingler of Brownstown; two step-daughters, Debbie Lynn of Vallonia and Peggy Conley of Brownstown; three brothers Richard Mulberry, Eugene Mulberry and David Mulberry; 2 sisters, Phyllis Wayman and Patricia Weddel; 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Brownstown Christian Church and the previous owner of Brownstown Frozen Food Locker. He also worked at Precision Car Wash in Brownstown and AAA Striping Service. He belonged to American Legion Post 112 of Brownstown (past commander), VFW, Knights of Pythias and Jaycees. He was also a past Brownstown town board member and charter member of the Hickory Hills Golf Course. He graduated from Sadieville High School in Sadieville, KY and attended the University of Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 570th Signal Air Warning Battalion. He was preceded in death by both parents, one daughter, Patricia Faye Mulberry; one sister, Betty Jean Johnson; and one brother Raymond Mulberry. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Spurgeon Funeral Home in Brownstown. Rev. Michael Hogg will be officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Spurgeon Funeral Home Inc., in Brownstown, IN and from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at the funeral home. Full military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post 89, VFW 1925, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Vietnam Veterans 7 of Seymour. Memorials may be given to the Brownstown Christian Church Building Fund, Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary, or donor's choice.
