Sara O'Hara Obituary

Sara Ruth O'Hara, 83, Brownstown, died at 4:50 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Hoosier Christian Village.
She was born Sept. 1, 1928 to the late Hugh L. Gray and Mabel Crist Gray. On May 17, 1947 she married Robert J. O'Hara, and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. O'Hara was an active member of the Brownstown Presbyterian Church where she devoted much time to many offices and committees. She was a sustaining member of the Psi Iota Xi sorority in Brownstown. Mrs. O'Hara had been an Alzheimer's patient for three years. For the past year she has resided at Hoosier Christian Village, but had lived in Ewing/Brownstown all of her life in the house her father built. Until the time of her illness she had been a hairdresser in Brownstown for many years and an active volunteer at the Southern Indiana Center for the Arts in Seymour. She enjoyed sewing, golfing, cooking, and serving her community.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews, who will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Hugh L. "Jeff" Gray, Delmar Zane Gray, and Joseph Crist Gray; and a sister, Vivian Branaman.
A family memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Cremation was accorded per Mrs. O'Hara's wishes.
Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown is in charge of arrangements.

Ruthie was like a second mother to me and I have so many fond memories of her and Bob. God Bless you all. She will be sorely missed.
