Mary Mailhos Obituary

Mary Jane Mailhos

Mary Jane Mailhos, 83, of Brunswick, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 2, 2023. She was born on Feb. 8, 1940, in Laurens County. Mary Jane relocated to Brunswick in 1972.

Mary Jane was a devout Christian as well as a loyal friend, pen pal, animal lover and a proud Braves fan. She enjoyed listening to Charles Stanley and Joyce Meyer; they inspired her Christian faith. She kept a prayer journal for her loved ones and always believed in the power of prayer. Her faith could move mountains. She had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping those in need. She was a beloved Nana to her grandchildren whom she supported with an abundance of love (and a little extra cash when needed).

In her earlier years, she stayed at home raising her growing family. As her children became older, she helped support the family in different ways. She was also an employee for the Keebler Cookie Co., Rich Products, KOA Kampground and The King and Prince Resort. She was a master chef in the kitchen. Everyone always devoured - her delicious fried shrimp, hush puppies, biscuits and Thanksgiving dressing.

Mary Jane is survived by her loving children Ronald "Andy" Cain Jr. (Beth), Tommy Cain (former spouse, Niki), Chris C. Cain (Doris), Alan D. Cain (Pola), Tonya Hyre (Jon), and Alicia D. Mikuta (Michael). She adored her 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mary Jane is preceded in death by her late husband Robert Mailhos; the children's father, Ronald A. Cain; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Proctor; siblings, Larry Proctor, Betty Bobinger, Eleanor Brooks, Don Proctor; and her beloved dog Cooper.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

A small service will be held at 3 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2023, at College Place United Methodist Church, in Brunswick.

Brunswick Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Words cannot express the love this precious soul had for all the lives she blessed. We will miss her sweet smile and positive attitude but know she is rejoicing in heaven and will be there to greet us warmly one day.
