Timothy Meredith II
Timothy Patrick "Tim" Meredith II, 39, of Brunswick, passed away tragically in an automobile accident on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, while en route to an annual trip to camp with close friends in Kentucky.
Born in Atlanta, Tim was a 2004 graduate of Grayson High School, where he excelled as a pitcher on the baseball team all four years and still proudly holds several longstanding school records. His love of the game led him to Valdosta State University, where he played for one season before an injury brought his baseball career to an early end. Undeterred, Tim transferred to Kennesaw State University, earning a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance.
While attending Kennesaw State, Tim began working at Fifth Street Restaurants in 2009, where he met the love of his life, Haley. Their shared work ethic and love for one another blossomed into a lifelong partnership. The couple married in 2011 and made their home in Smyrna, where they welcomed their sons - John Carter in 2015, and James Henry in 2017.
In 2018, Tim and Haley relocated to the Golden Isles to be closer to family. Tim quickly embraced the area, launching Meredith Landscape and later joining his brothers at Odin Lumber Co., where they proudly crafted baseball bats - an echo of his early passions. Eventually, Tim found his professional stride in accounting, working with the Jekyll Island Club before being promoted by its parent company where he served as financial systems administrator for Noble House Hotels and Resorts. He found immense joy in this role, which allowed him to work remotely, travel to various properties across North America and solve complex accounting issues.
Tim was a man of many talents and interests. A gifted woodworker, he could create just about anything with his hands. He was also an avid gamer, an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed rock climbing and camping, and, above all, a devoted husband, father, son, brother and cousin. His quick wit, kind spirit and loyalty to his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Kathryn Haley Sprouse Meredith; and their two sons, John Carter (10) and James Henry (8). He is also survived by his parents, Timothy Patrick Meredith and Sharyl Renee Horvath Meredith of Brunswick; two brothers, Christopher Matthew Meredith (Anna) and their son, Finn, of St. Augustine, Florida, and Sean Avery Meredith (Brianna) and their son, Wyatt, of Buford; his mother-in-law, Kathy Sprouse of Brunswick; father-in-law, Tim Sprouse of Jesup; sister-in-law, Rachel Lee (Jason) and their son, Gibbs, of Tampa; grandmother-in-law, Patsy Gibbs of Brunswick; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Karolyne Meredith; maternal grandparents, Sharon Stach and Robert Horvath; grandfather-in-law, J.D. Gibbs; aunt, Dona Zucco; and uncle, Shane Stach.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 at Brunswick First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tommy McMillian officiating. Interment will follow at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
