David Helton Obituary
David was preceded in death by his fraternal grandfather, Nathan G. Helton, fraternal grandmother, Flossie M. Helton, maternal grandfather Howard A. Johnson, maternal grandmother Jackie Johnson, fraternal uncle Pat Eugene Helton.
David (Hooter Helton, Music Man) was well known for his love of all genres of music specifically ROCK-N-ROLL and the many tapes/CD's he made that touched the lives of countless people.
He graduated from Conway High in 1985 and attended UCA. He was also a certified weather storm spotter and was also a proud teacher of the Cherokee language (his family heritage). He started working at Helton's DX at age 9 standing on a milk crate washing windows, pumping gas, and checking oil for customers. He moved on to a career at KCON as a D.J. Which was his passion. He worked for Wal-Mart in the service center as a tech, O'Reilly's, Superior Hyundai, and still worked for his dad at Helton's Wrecker Service/U-Haul and Cherokee Nation Bingo.
Left to cherish his memory, are his loving family; parents, Bobbi and Bill Helton, siblings, Shelley (Sissie) Young (Max), Michael Scott Helton (Betsey), of Conway, 2 nieces he treated as his own, Karyn Denise Helton, Kyndell Marie Helton, and fiancé Robin Moix of Conway. Other survivors: Uncle's Leon Helton, Harold Helton, Danny Helton (Sharon) and Aunt Marilyn (Katie) Reeves (Don); Cousins: Shane Helton, Pat Reeves (Misty), Robert Reeves, LeeAnn Helton, Christopher Helton, Jennifer (Nikki) Hurst, Stephanie Smith (Mitchell), and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday June 25th from 6-8 p.m. and his Celebration of Life Service, Tuesday, June 26th at 3 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Aaron (AP) Pugh, Darrell Yates, Mike Neuhofel, Sharpe Dunaway, Joey Rivers and Brian Monroe. Honorary pallbearers are Toby Beene and Chris Cockrum.
