Eddie Flowers Obituary
He was born on Thursday, Oct. 19, 1939, in Hoxie, Ark., to the late Archie Overton and Nellie (Davis) Flowers.
He was a minister of Grace Baptist Church for over thirty years. He was a director of Hands Across The Border Ministry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lois (Lentz) Flowers; daughters, Rebecca Flowers and Jennifer Gainer (Darrin); grandson, Kordell Gainer; brother, Charles Flowers (Mary Ann); and his loving friends at Grace Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Jane Flowers and Jackie Pettit.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, with Brother Frank Fason officiating.
Burial will follow at Brents Cemetery in Cleveland, Ark., with Charles Hall, Spencer Gambrell, Brian Wilhite, Tim Griffin, Kevin McCoy, and Jon Barnard serving as pallbearers.
George Mathis, Al Wallace, Everett Freeman, and Doug Bonds will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hands Across The Border Ministry, P.O. Box 86, Conway, AR 72033.

I just heard of Bro. Eddie's passing. I was able to attend Rocky Ridge for many years. I started going with my mom as a young child. Bro. Eddie was bigger than life for me. I saw him through the eyes of a child and through him I saw the true meaning of the fruits of the spirit.

I had the privilege of hearing Bro Flowers speak only once, but what an impact he made on me!!!!! He was scheduled to come again in August. How sad I am that he won't be there. I am glad to know that i will see him again.....in glory. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Bro. Eddie made an impact on many lives and directed back to GOD, he did what GOD put hime here on this earth to do. I know personally he helped me through my tragedy in my life and became a Very important person in my heart!! I have known Bro. Eddie since I was young. Bro. Eddie was a man of God as well as a family man. He believed in everyone and made people feel at home when they came to his church and the way he preached always reminded me of my daddy preaching! We are so sadden to hear of Brother Flowers passing. He was a wonderful man of GOD, we loved and respected him immensely. We always loved when we got a chance to hear him preach. Brother Eddie will be so missed. I don't believe there is another person who can even begin to fill his shoes. He will be such a loss to the church. How will you ever replace him? Brother Eddie was a big part of my childhood! He brought me to The Lord, saved me, then baptized me!!! He was so understanding and you could talk to him about anything!! He was an amazing man! He is with our Heavenly Father now and he is smiling down at us!!!

We have many memories that include Bro. Flowers. One being our first Sunday as a married couple. We spent our Honeymoon night in Conway so that we could be in Pastor Flowers services on Sunday morning! In our early ministry days, during a skit, Bro. Flowers hip-tossed my husband! Then later, as missionaries, he was one of our first supporters - and remained a faithful supporter. We love him and thank God for his investment in our lives!

I am very sad to hear of Bro. Eddie's passing. I loved this man with all my heart. I am truly honored to have known him for many years. I have so many wonderful memories of him and my Dad and the sweet fellowship when Bro. Eddie came to town to bring the gifts to our church every year. My Dad went home to be with The Lord over 2 years ago and now they are reunited with one another and enjoying that "sweet fellowship" once again but this time it is for all eternity. I know that Bro. Eddie heard those wonderful words, "Well Done thou good and faithful servant" & "Welcome Home". I will truly miss this wonderful man of God & I will miss that sweet spirit that he had. Every time he came out to NM, he would always invite me to come and hear him preach but before he would preach he would always ask me to sing and I was honored to do so. I will miss his big hugs and that wonderful smile of his. I will never forget what a blessing he was to me and my mother and our church.

This man made a very big deifference in my life as a young woman, he and many others at GBC lovingly supported me through my teenage years and made my life better when it wasn't so great at home. I will never forget him or what he did for me. I love you Brother Eddie. Rest in peace.

Thinking of the thousands of lives he impacted for our LORD, how the rejoicing must have resounded through heaven at the news of his arrival, how he lifted and encouraged me when others sought to keep me down, of the strength he gave not only through his teaching but in his living demonstration of the gospel. I was saddened to hear about Bro Eddie, not for him but for all those who were left to morn his loss in their life. And that I wouldn't get to hear him preach on this side of Heaven again! Bro. Eddie influenced so many. He took Kenneth and I on our first mission trip. God used that to call us to be missionaries. He truly was an example of loving others as yourself. He saw beyond race, language, and borders. He saw the need and tried to his best ability to meet it. Thank you Mrs. Lois and girls for sharing him with us all.

Bro. Eddie was like a second Daddy to me. He encouraged me and loved me when I felt like there wasn't anyone else around who would. When I was in my first year of college, far from my family and anything that was familiar to me I found a kind and caring man who encouraged me in The Lord and helped me make it through those tough times. He truly was like a Daddy to me, I'm going to miss his hugs, they were the best! There is so much I could say about Bro. Eddie, I figure I could probably write a book...those of you who knew this great man could too.
