Jessie Fayette Graves Stuhr was born Dec. 12, 1939, at Mount Levi, Arkansas, to Austin Urban Graves and Joye Belle Asher Graves. She was married to Gerald (Jerry) Stuhr who predeceased her in August of 2024. She was the second of four children. She is predeceased by her older sister, Bobby Koonce (James), and her younger sister, Linda Elkins (Charles). She is survived by her younger brother, Austin Urban Graves Jr (Linda-deceased) of Solgohachia. She is also survived by her two children, Billy Charles Bostian Jr (Donna) of Houston and Shawn Lee Bostian (Sandra) of Overcup, and step-son, JD Stuhr of Hope. She has five grandchildren: Jessica Ross (James), Trey (Nicole), Losson David, Ashley (Jessie) and Thomas. She has seven great-grand children and one on the way. She is also survived by her very special nephew whom she thought of as a son, Kevin Wade (Keith) of Gravette.
Jessie was a very special person. Although very diminutive in stature, she commanded respect. She worked at many jobs throughout her life such as Levi Strauss, Piggly Wiggly and "the Steakhouse in Morrilton." She was often a supervisor and managed many other people. Jessie ended her working career as a caretaker of the elderly. She was known as a good friend to many. She was often seen welcoming new members of the Damascus community where she lived for over 30 years with homemade cakes and cookies. She was a member of the Damascus Road Cowboy Church in Damascus, Arkansas.
A memorial service will be held on Jan. 4, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Damascus Road Cowboy Church, Damascus, Arkansas.
