Joe Bryant Obituary

Joe S. Bryant of the Holland community, veteran of the United States Army, and member of Holland Baptist Church went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2025.

Joe was born on May 10, 1937, to Harlon N. Bryant and Louise Lovelady Bryant. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Ann Jackson Bryant; his sister, Levena F. Lee; and his son-in-law, John J. Hambuchen.

Those left to honor his memory are his two daughters, Neva J. Brown (Dusty) and Cindy A. Troillet (Matt) both of the Holland community. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Kristin Dallas (Raul) of North Little Rock, Elizabeth Brown of Little Rock and Hannah Bryan (Nick) of Little Rock; two grandsons, Alister Brown of Texas and Hayden Lybarger of Conway; five great-grandchildren, Cannon, Kennedi and Chord Dallas, and Leo and Mattie Bryan.

Joe, and his friend, Dennis Fulmer, worked hard to have their own business in the flooring industry. After many years, he then went on to work at Hendrix College Physical Plant working in the Grounds Department, and then as custodian for Grove Gym. He greatly loved working with the Athletic Department at Hendrix, becoming lifelong friends with the staff and many of the students in the basketball programs.

After retirement, Joe and his wife, Barbara, continued to stay involved with their community of Holland. They worked maintaining and scheduling the Holland Community Center for many years. They were honored that the Holland Community Center was dedicated in their name in December of 2020.

The family would like to thank Hospice Homecare and Sara McIntire for the care of our dad, and especially Tamara Wyatt (AKA Tamara Leann). Tamara's devotion to Joe's care was a shining example of their connection.

The joys of Joe's life were his love for the Lord, his family, spending time in the garden and serving the Holland community. He found an unexpected friendship in his furry friend Zeke and could also be known as the number-one St. Louis Cardinals fan. It's with great faith in God that our family knows Dad is now with Mom in the kingdom of Heaven.

Funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Holland Baptist Church with Bro. James Diley officiating. Visitation will start one hour prior at the church at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Holland, Arkansas.

The pallbearers will be Ray Marsh, Jerry Mauldin, Tim Brewer, Justin Pearce, Steve Baker and Dave Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers are Ronald Pearce and Henry Butler.
