John Crnic Obituary

John Crnic, Jr., 55, of Conway, passed away at his home, Sunday, June 26, 2011, after a five year battle with a brain tumor.
He was born in Kansas City, Mo., to John Crnic, Sr. and Joan Theroff Crnic.
John was a graduate of Platte City High School, received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla and his MBA from Murray State University. He worked for Kimberly-Clark, Memphis and Conway Mills for 20 years and was most recently employed by Polymer Group Incorporated in Little Rock. John was a member of First United Methodist Church in Conway.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Melanie Cole Crnic; their daughter, Amanda; his previously mentioned parents, of Platte City, Mo.; siblings, Janice Crnic Miller (Mike) of Camden Point, Mo., Guy Crnic of Houston, Texas, Paul Crnic (Jacquelyn) of St. Louis, Mo., and Patty Crnic Homeyer (Rob) of New Haven, Mo.; nephews and nieces, Knut Brower, Scott Miller (Becca), Sara Miller and Adam Homeyer; and mother-in-law, Kathleen Cole of Olive Branch, Miss.
John was a private pilot and enjoyed flying as well as all types of hunting, but the greatest delight of his life was his daughter, Amanda. He was known as a man of few words, but loved for his quick wit and dry sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Conway, with the Rev. Charles Murry and the Rev. Lynn Kilbourne officiating.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to First United Methodist Church Youth Ministries, 1610 Prince St., Conway, AR 72034.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, 501-327-7727.

Melanie and Amanda, Please know we are thinking of you both at this difficult time. John was such a nice guy and I enjoyed working with him at KC. When he smiled, you knew it was pure joy at work. He was a quiet and very kind person and all who knew him, will miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss. I miss seeing John walk around the neighborhood, and I miss his visits. He was such a great help to Bill in getting neighborhood work done out front and at Miss Maxey's house. He and Bill were always discussing the best kinds of paint for things or gas vs. electric weed whackers or how low to cut the grass. He will be greatly missed by both of us.

I am so sad to hear of John's passing from this life; however, I am rejoicing for the wonderful things that John is now beholding - especially the sight of Jesus Christ. John was a wonderful, compassionate person who had the respect of his coworkers. It has been many years since I've worked for him at KC, but I will never forget his kind heart. John was very blessed to have such a wonderful family. I pray for their comfort.

Melanie and Amanda, I am so sad for your loss. I will miss my good neighbor and great friend who stopped by often just to share his warm smile and witty outlook on life.
