Kenneth Kinsley Obituary

Dr. Kenneth E. Kinsley, 72, of Waverly, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa., on Wednesday, May 16, 2007.

Born Jan. 19, 1935, in Sayre, he was the son of the late Earl and Grace Mae Powell Kinsley.

Kenneth graduated from Waverly High School in 1953 and received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago. Kenneth's Chiropractic Practice was a well-established landmark in Waverly for 40 years until his retirement in 1997.

He was a former member of the Waverly School Board, former member and president of the Waverly Rotary Club, and a 32nd degree Mason in the Chemung F&AM. Ken was an avid sportsman who enjoyed baseball, football, NASCAR, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed nature, especially watching the squirrels and birds, gardening and mowing grass. Kenneth loved to attend his grandchildren's sporting events and concerts. Ken was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was predeceased by his sister, Phyllis Kinsley-Mink, Clearwater, Fla., and a grandson, Ryan Timothy Corl, Williamson, N.Y.

Ken is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara, at home; children, Carolyn Kinsley-Grace and fiancé Joseph McNamara of Lockwood, N.Y., Karen Henson of Waverly, Kelly Lynch of Waverly, Kenneth and Tricia Corl of Williamson, N.Y., Kris and Renee Kinsley of Waverly and Corine "Corky" Cowles of Waverly; grandchildren, Justin C. Trudeau of Sharpsburg, Ga., Jessica D. and Brett Trudeau-Burkhart of California, Kenneth Casselbury Corl of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Jennifer L. Corl of Williamson, Charles K. Lynch of Waverly, Andrew E. Kinsley and Kyle J. Kinsley of Waverly, Alexandra and Sydney Kinsley-Grace of Lockwood, and William F. Cowles and Benjamin D. Cowles of Waverly; sister, Janice Vyvyan of Dunedin, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Nancy Tracy of North Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 18, at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home Inc., 225 S. Main St., Athens, Pa. Funeral and committal services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Anne Canfield officiating.

Burial will be held in the Tioga Point Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Waverly Free Library, 18 Elizabeth St., Waverly, N.Y. 14892, or to the House of Hope, c/o Guthrie Healthcare Systems, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, Pa. 18840
