Neil Weintraub Obituary

Weintraub, Dr. Neil

Dr. Neil Weintraub, 59, of Danville died Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Born January 23, 1955 in Forest Hills, NY, he was the son of Ilene Metviner Weintraub and the late Donald Harold Weintraub. Neil was a graduate of Forest Hills High School at the age of 16, then a Summa Cum Laude graduate of University of Pennsylvania where he received a BA in Chemistry. Neil went on to attend medical school at The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and did his residency at NYU. He served as a vascular surgeon at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center since 2009. One of Neil's "Bucket List" things to do was to be in a play and he performed in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the West T. Hill Community Theatre.

Neil is survived by his wife, Elita Charalambous Weintraub; children, Alexander Q. (Lisa) Weintraub of CT, Katharine G. Weintraub of NY, Katerina Philippou of NY, and Aliki Philippou of KY; mother, Ilene Metviner Weintraub of Houston, TX; a sister, Cindy Beth (Michael) Schulman, of Houston, TX, and nephews, Brett Ross and Tyler Reed Schulman.

Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to West T Hill Community Theatre or EMRMC Foundation.
