Patsy Ross Obituary

Patsy Jo Akins Ross, 91, of Conway, Arkansas, passed away on Feb. 26, 2024. She was born July 12, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to James Henry Akins and Jessie Maxine Shows Akins. She was a 1950 graduate of Capitol Hill High School and was a two-time Worthy Advisor with Rainbow Girls (Eastern Star). Pat worked for Southwestern Bell for 22 years, worked part-time at UCA for a few years and was an Avon representative for over 25 years.

ln l988, she and her husband, Ron, retired to Conway to be close to family. She was active in Newcomers, and volunteered for over 15 years at both the Conway Regional Hospital Gift Shop and with Faulkner County Friends of the Library. She also chaired the Faulkner County Library Book Sale for several years. Pat was a member of the Dorothy Robbins Light Sunday School class at First United Methodist Church, and also volunteered with the FUMC Food Pantry. She and Ron enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad, either to visit friends, or on bus trips with the local banks.

ln addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Ronald Lee Ross. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Dean) Newell; grandsons, Brandon (Courtney) and Jacob (Gayle) Newell; great-grandsons, Jude and Nathanial Newell; niece, Dawn Ahhaitty; and many other family and friends.

The family would like to thank Stonebridge Senior Living for their care over the past 21 months, as well as Gentiva Hospice. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. A memorial visitation will be held at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5-7 p.m.
