Phyllis Williams Obituary

Phyllis Jean Williams, age 86, of Wooster, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Greystone Nursing Facility in Cabot, Arkansas. She was born in Newtonsville, Ohio, June 28, 1938, to the late Richard Leslie Shelton and Mary Evelyn Romack (Bogan).

Phyllis was known as "Tippy" to family and "Red" to her loving husband, Ronald, for her beautiful red hair. She and Ronald were married for 69 years. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a well-known and self-taught incredibly talented artist in Conway, Arkansas, and was a previous member of the Art League. She also taught art to many others. She painted for over 60 years and loved painting a variety of different genres. She especially enjoyed painting flowers, animals and landscapes. Several of her paintings are portrayed in her family's home, the others were exhibited in several states. Most were sold in Arkansas and as far overseas as Europe. She also had the Country Gallery in Conway with her sister-in-law, Norma Shelton.

Phyllis also enjoyed watching her family's quarter horses race professionally, riding motorcycles and flying the family's private plane. Phyllis loved sitting in her back yard and on her front porch watching the birds and the deer. After her retirement, she and Ron spent quality time traveling and sightseeing nationwide.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Williams; a brother, Raymond Shelton; a half-brother, Timothy Shelton; a half-sister, Christy Schwarzkopf and a great-grandson, Zackery Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Curt Williams (Marlene) of El Paso, Arkansas, and Russ Williams of Clinton, Arkansas; a daughter, Laura Williams of Greenbrier, Arkansas; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a niece, Connie Lowe (Joe) of Clinton, Arkansas, and other family and friends.

She was a member of Lifesong Baptist Church in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
