It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virginia Brannon Cossey, who went home to heaven on April 19, 2025.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Cossey; her parents, Paul and Katherine Brannon, and her siblings, Mary Nell Starkey, Helen Kirby, Oma Hargrove, Allen Brannon, and Monty McMahan; her sister-in-law Jeral Mathes and Mildred Holmes.
Virginia is survived by her son, Bill Cossey, and his wife, Linda; her daughter, Rhonda Hopson, and her husband, Cliff; sister, Neva Pearson, Peggy McMahan; her sister-in-law, Joy Brannon and Lucile Lee. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Allen Gwatney, Misty Kerek, Hunter Gwatney, and his wife, Bailey. Great-grandchildren, Lakyn and Gunnar Gwatney. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia dedicated 28 years of her life to teaching at Ellen Smith Elementary School in Conway Public Schools.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Virginia's honor to Brumley Baptist Church in Conway, Arkansas.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the love she gave and the lives she touched.
