Guadalupe Maciel Herrera
Guadalupe Maciel Herrera, 102, of Salinas, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011.
She was born September 16, 1908, in Chavinda, Michoacan, Mexico, to Margarita Padilla and Jesus Maciel. Her late husband was Rafael Herrera. Her job was at home caring for her ten children and other family members. Guadalupe spent 80 years of her life in the Salinas area.
Guadalupe was a loving, caring, giving and compassionate person. She was known as "Mother" to family and many others. Her kindness, generosity and respect for others was endless. She was a shining and guiding light to many. We will dearly miss her.
Guadalupe leaves daughters, Hope Herrera, Lupe Ramirez, Margaret Moore, Delia Esquer, Sue Hardy, Genevieve Molina; son, Ralph Herrera; grandsons, David Herrera, Philip Herrera, Ralph Herrera, Pete Ramirez, Robert Rivera, Frank Guzman, Richard Guzman, Rudy Molina, Antonio Villareal, Ramon Herrera, Ralph Herrera, Stephen Martinez; granddaughters, Hope Ornelas, Delia Mamapalangi, Patricia Johnson, Becky Reyes, Mishelle Beltran, Madeline Szklarski, Monica Austin and Luann Ayala. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughters, Antonia Garcia, Anna Martinez and son, Ramon Herrera.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 11 from 1 to 9 p.m. and Rosary at 7 p.m. at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905.
Funeral Mass on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 12 p.m. at Madonna del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Dr., Salinas, CA 93906. A reception will follow at the church.
Final Resting Place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way Salinas CA 93907.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one's favorite charity.

My deepest condolences go out to the whole Herrera family. You all are in my prayers.
I have not seen your Mother for many years but always on my birthday I would think of her as we shared the same day.
You sister Anna was the Godmother to Elizabeth my daughter.
I would like to also let you all know that I have Anna and Toni in my prayers.
I miss hearing their laughs and their smile.
May God bless you and your at this time. Just remember all the good time and that they are all shinning stars looking sown on us.
