Rava Worrell Quesenberry, age 95, of Sylvatus, passed away at Commonwealth Senior Living on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. She was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 29, 1927 to the late William Ellis and Barbara Vass Worrell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad G. Quesenberry, as well as two sisters, Flossie Farris and Flora Brinkley and one brother, Arvin Deco Worrell. She is survived by one sister, Effie File.

Survivors include her five sons, Jack (Linda) Quesenberry, Dan (Sharon) Quesenberry, John (Ruth) Quesenberry, Larry (Judy) Quesenberry, and Randy Quesenberry. She also left behind seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one special niece, Margie Hillard.

Rava was a retired school teacher in Carroll County. After retirement, she volunteered as an aide at Laurel Elementary School. She was active in the Senior Citizens and the Carroll County Retire Teachers as well as the Sylvatus Ruritan Club. She was a proud member of Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM with the Pastor Ronald Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Internment will follow at the Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Rava was a very special lady to me. I loved her for the kindness she showed to everyone she met. When visiting my second home in Sylvatus, l always looked forward to seeing her at the Sylvatus Ruritan building. She always had a big smile for Martin and l. I miss her and will be praying for the entire family. Danny, l am especially sorry for you loss!!
