Fred Brewer Obituary

Fred McKeever Brewer | 1955 - 2024

Fred McKeever Brewer, a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 68. Fred will be remembered for his quiet strength, thoughtfulness, and the deep love he had for his family and those who knew him.

Born in 1955, Fred spent his high school years on picturesque Catalina Island.. He graduated with the Avalon High School Class of 1974. It was there that he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and the close-knit community of island life.

After high school, Fred settled in the Long Beach and Lakewood areas of California, where he spent most of his adult life surrounded by family and friends.

Fred was a young father and a young grandfather, roles that he cherished above all else. He was adored by his children and later by his 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life. Fred was a steady, loving presence for his family-always willing to offer a listening ear or a helping hand, quietly putting their needs before his own. His humility and selflessness were hallmarks of his character, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Fred is survived by his son Todd Brewer, his daughter Dawn Brewer and his beloved 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Susan and Jim Cheek, his brother Mark Brewer, and his sisters Tammy Lee and Betsy Brunson. Fred's passing leaves a profound void in their hearts, but they take solace in knowing that he is at peace. He will be forever missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date on Catalina Island.
