Joann Virginia Lochard

Joann (Mock) Lochard, 91, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2023, at the Trinidad Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Trinidad, Colorado.


Joann was born in Trinchera, CO on October 14, 1931 to Catherine (Doherty) and Mike E. Mock.

She attended school in Trinchera and Branson, CO where she developed a love of baseball while playing catcher and keeping score for her high school girls team.
While attending Trinidad State Junior College, Joann met Charles W. Lochard. They were married on August 24, 1951, a union that lasted 50 years. They were blessed with eight children.

From the time she was a very young girl, Joann loved dogs and was rarely without a four legged companion by her side.

For over 50 years, Joann was an avid bowler and enjoyed many great friendships in the Tuesday morning Coffee Cup
League.

As a long time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Joann served the church and community as a Eucharistic Minister.

Joann was preceded in death by her husband Charles and son Gary.

She is survived by her children Larry Lochard, Sharon (Joe) Martorano,
Dennis (Marynell) Lochard,
Charley (Natsue) Lochard,
Judy (DeLos) Faivre, Michael (Tina) Barcelona,Jim (Colleen) Lochard; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on March 31, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. at Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home.

Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery following the service.

In leu of flowers, donations may be made to Noah's Ark
Animal Shelter, Holy Trinity Catholic Church or The Paralyzed Veterans Organization - Wounded Warrior Project.

The family of Joann Lochard would like to thank the staff of Trinidad Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, especially the exceptional caregivers on the Sopris wing, for the wonderful care and love they showed our Mom and Granny.
