Lawrence Munoz Obituary
He was born on November 16th,1945 in Trinidad, CO. He attended Trinidad High School and graduated in 1964. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, served during the Vietnam Conflict, and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1968.
Lawrence was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was dedicated to providing for his family which he proved by driving the equivalent of 80 times around the world while employed with UPS from 1972-2002. He entered into well-deserved retirement and spent that time loving the Lord and his wife of 49 years, Carmen. He enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns on TV, and spending time with his family and friends.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents Serafin and Rumalda (Bueno) Muñoz; his first wife JoAnn (Martinez) Muñoz; his brothers Paul, Sam, and Max Ortega and Tom (Sonny) Garcia; his sister and brother-in-law Flora & Max Trujillo; his brother-in-law John Gomez; his father and mother-in-law Nick & Juanita Trujillo; and his grandson Paul Andrew Martinez, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Carmen; his daughters JoAnn (Charlene Pinelli) Lopez, Paula (Bulmaro) Guzman, Mileene (Stacey) Sanchez, and Marla (Stephen Jimenez) Muñoz; his son David (Katie) Muñoz; his grandchildren Jesse, Joseph, Jessiah, and Elsianna DeLeon, Joshua (Makayla) Guzman, Vanessa Guzman, Enrique Guzman, Lexie (Rico Lopez) Sanchez, Carlos (Isabella Flores) Sanchez, Joaquin Serafin Jimenez; and great- grandchildren Xavier Maes, Adrianna Martinez, and Rylo Lopez-Sanchez. He is also survived by his sisters Rosella (John) Weisgerber, Elena Medkiff, Janice (Alex) Grine, Alice Gomez, Ernestine (Ernest) Hererra; brother Jimmy (Christine) Munoz; brother-in-law Nick (Rhonda) Trujillo; and sisters-in-law Linda (Levi) Trujillo and Peggy Trujillo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Pallbearers are Stephen Jimenez, Felix Lopez, Carlos Sanchez, Anthony Ortega, David Ortega, and Roy VanMatre.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 30th from 5PM- 7PM at Mullare-Murphy funeral home. Please join us as we celebrate his life and reunion with the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, December 31st at 1PM at First Christian Church located at 200 S. Walnut St. Pastor Cary Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery.
The family has entrusted Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home with the arrangements.

I worked with Lawrence in the early 70´s at UPS and became great friends with him and Carmen. Cathy (Tracy) Bolduc and I moved away in 1978. The years went by, but whenever we would talk we picked up where we left off. That friendship is hard to come by. I will miss him. Prayers and love to Carmen and family.

My deepest sympathies for all of our family for the loss of a wonderful person. I will miss his joy in telling me about Carmen, his children and his grandchildren. He was so calm when talking it gave me great comfort to converse with him. Now he will prepare a place for his loved ones. Love and prayers. Bye Uncle Lawrence.
