Clara Pitkin Obituary
Clara L. Pitkin, 93, wife of Dr. Edward T. Pitkin, of Mansfield Center, CT, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, in Storrs/Mansfield, CT. Clara was born in Barrington, R.I. to Wladyslaw and Anelia Modliszewski.
Clara had a green thumb and grew vegetables and flowers outdoors while also tending to many indoor house plants. She was known for her prize-winning needlework and enjoyed spending time with her friends at her stitching group, her bowling league, and her monthly get together with her schoolmates.
Clara is survived by her husband of nearly 72 years; son, Dale and wife, Beth; daughter, Gayle Linda Anintinat and husband, Said; grandchild, Jason MacEmcy and wife, Beth; sister, Isabella Makowski and five great- grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews.
Clara was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters and one grandchild, Kourtynie Dore.
The family would like to thank the employees of the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation for their compassionate care of Clara during her last days.
There are no calling hours. Burial is private. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.

I loved bowling with Miss Clara. She had fun with us too. Driving in my Jeep with the doors off and the windows removed. She had Ed call me on Thursday mornings to wake me up by playing reveille.
