WINDHAM
Doris C. Ouimette, 92, of Windham formerly of Willimantic passed away Friday March 21, 2025 at Windham Hospital. She was the wife of the late Philippe Ouimette. She was predeceased by her daughters, Denise (Ouimette) Richard, Nicole (Ouimette) Lillibridge and a son, Robert Ouimette.
Born on May 22, 1932 in St.-Malo Quebec, Canada she was the daughter of the late Omer and Ida (Tetreault) Roy. Doris was always there for her family helping out whenever she could. She loved watching her boys play sports. Robert playing baseball, Paul playing football and basketball, and Don playing basketball. Doris loved to spend time with family and spoke about them often to anyone who would listen. She cherished her visits with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doris enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, especially when she was winning.
Unfortunately her children Robert, Denise and Nicole developed muscular dystrophy which led to their physical decline. Surprisingly Doris was a very tough woman and survived for 25 years after the death of her husband Philippe. She even survived a bout of cancer and lived for another 12 years until the age of 92. Her son-in-law, Charles Lillibridge was a huge help to the family getting Doris situated in her new places of residence. He helped her pay her bills, and getting her food and clothing. She played an important role in her grandkids lives and supported them the best she could. We are going to miss you mom.
She is survived by her sons, Paul Ouimette and his wife, Pam of Conway, NH and Donald Ouimette and his wife Jane of Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Gabrielle (Ouimette) Cole, Aaron Ouimette, Christine (Parent) DiGiacomo, Elizabeth Ouimette, Jennifer (Ouimette) Schmidt, and Brittany Ouimette; and great- grandchildren, John, Olivia and Isabella DiGiacomo, Cayce and Kiarra Schmidt and Ambrose and Vera Cole.
Relatives and friends may visit on Sunday Mar 30, from 3 to 4 p.m. and again on Monday Mar 31, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Bacon Funeral Home 71 Prospect St, Willimantic followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church 46 Valley St, Willimantic.
