Gary Kettle Obituary

WINDHAM

Gary Sherman Kettle Jr. Fondly known as Pony or Ponyboy 52 passed away due to cancer on November 5th, 2023, with his mother, father, and sister lovingly by his side. We are all devastated by this huge loss, and he will be forever missed.

Gary (ponyboy) is survived by his mother and father Kathleen and David Gadoury. Sister, Stacy Maturo, brother-in-law, Mark Maturo, half sisters, Christine Malboeuf and Amy Kettle, daughters, Harli Kettle and Carly Schaefer along with granddaughter, Deylani Maryelis Vargas-Kettle.

Ponyboy was born on December 19th, 1970 at Windham hospital in Willimantic CT. Gary grew up in Ashford CT and attended E.O. Smith High School. Gary later went on to master the skill of an arborist.

Gary later moved to Florida where he spent the last fourteen years of his life. He made many friends along the way, he was the kind of person who drew people in. He was extremely funny and never failed to make someone laugh or bring a smile to their face. He never lost his child-like spirit, had an amazing memory, and would light up a room when telling his entertaining stories. These words cannot possibly sum up the life of such a beautiful person, but it is a glimpse into knowing him.

Gary everyone you left in this world hates that you are gone but we are happy that you are home, free and painless. Our love for you is endless, you will forever be missed until we can meet again.

A celebration of life for ponyboy's will occur in the spring with details to be determined. It will be announced in the same places you find yourself reading this, several weeks before the date.

I can´t remember my first memory, he was my dad and helped my mom bring me into this world. I was his little Tom-boy and he was my favorite person to be around. Every memory from up to where I can remember is a great memory. Even in some of the bad times. My favorite memory with my father has to be every adventure we took or had when I was a kid. Dirt bikes, scooters, camping, outside/indoor activities. His steak and lobster I´ll NEVER forget. Yummm, my dad was a ball of fun and joy. A special moment I shared, there was a lot. The most special had to of been, when I told him I was going to be a mother. Which saddens me at the same time because his granddaughter was born November 23rd, 2023. Only a few weeks after he passed. I know he comes and visits her which makes me happy. Everyday since she was born she smiles and giggles in her sleep. I´m 100% certain that´s him visiting her! He would´ve been such an amazing grandfather! Smile? That man could make anyone and everyone smile. He was a goofball and always just himself! He would light up a room when he came into it, no my dad wasn´t perfect no one ever is. He just knew how to make the rainy days shine when need be. My dad was who he was and I would NEVER change that for the world. I miss him dearly and know that if I could speak to him right now, he would make me laugh and tell me not to be sad. I´ll always remember his hair was his most important feature! NEVER touch his hair, he loved the outdoors and being in florida. He loved to cut down trees, & just make everyone around him laugh. He had so much love to give!!! A place that will ALWAYS remind me of my father, is horse barn hill. We used to go there a lot when I was kid, we go sledding in the winter. Visit the animals in the summer, & ride our dirt bikes etc. tree climbing you name it we did it! I can´t wait to share these memories with my daughter, & explain to her about her grandfather! We love you so much dad. I wish I could just speak to you, hug you, & feel one more of your kisses on my cheek! I´m glad your not in pain anymore, just hate all the pain we´re now all feeling! My dad aka pony boy was an amazing soul we love you Your daughter Harli Ann Kettle.

I've known Gary for 42 years of his life. He was a very unique young man. I've watched him grow from a young boy to a handsome man, funny and can tell many stories. My heart is broken for his family and myself. You will be missed. I love you!
