James F Cardile, 101, of Windham passed away peacefully at the home he proudly built in 1963, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Kogut) Cardile, father to the late James F. Cardile, Jr.

Born on January 24, 1924 in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Frank and Serafina (Motta) Cardile. Jimmy was a WWII Army veteran serving the Corporal Battery B513th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion as an AAA gun crewman sharpshooter in Southern Philippines Luzon. He was an accomplished Stone and Brick Mason with his Father and Brother, Serving in the union for 75 years. He loved to read, play cards, Poker at Foxwoods, garden, cook, hunt, and tell his adventures to everyone who voraciously listened. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 19, his favorite place to visit and play cards in the afternoons.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Dinardo, Rose Listro, and Lucia Ewanco and his brother, Rosario. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Frank Cardile; sister, Flo Borgeson; and his many nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18, with visitation from 9-11 a.m., with a service at 11a.m. at Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St, Willimantic. Burial will follow in St Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 19, 339 Brick Top Rd, Windham, CT 06280.
