Austin Rhodes Obituary

Austin M. "Gramps" Rhodes, 67, of Merrill Street, Clearfield, PA, died unexpectedly, at home, July 30, 2021.

A son of the late Nolan J. and Shigeko (Kudo) Rhodes, he was born on Dec. 18, 1953, in Tokyo, Japan.

Besides his parents, Gramps was predeceased by a sister, Linda Martinez.

Gramps is survived by his longtime partner, Melody Luxmore of Clearfield; four children, Dusty (Patrick) Gerg of Bigler, Windy (Richard) Lopez of Clearfield; Rocky (Jennifer) Rhodes of DuBois, and John (Sara) Rhodes of DuBois;10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his ex-wife, Gerry Rhodes of Clearfield; a brother-in-law, Jose' Martinez of Washington; three nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Gramps served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and lived most of his life in Washington and Pennsylvania. He loved animals, especially his dogs and his many fish, but mostly he enjoyed time with his grandchildren.

There will be no visitation.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorials are suggested to the family at PO Box 114, Bigler, PA 16825.

The Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield has been entrusted with final arrangements.
