Clarence Mineweaser Obituary

Clarence Eugene "Gene" Mineweaser, 85, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

Gene was born in Brookville, PA, on August 18, 1939, to the late Herman F. and Grace Agnes (Plyler) Mineweaser.

Gene graduated from Brookville High School in Brookville, PA, with the class of 1957. Gene held the position of Director of Engineering at Penn Traffic in DuBois, PA for thirty-two years prior to his retirement. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve for thirty-three years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was also the commander of the 8th Field Artillery Regiment in Clearfield, PA from 1988-1990.

Gene married the love of his life, Mary Ann (Schuckers) Mineweaser, on April 8, 1961, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville, PA; she survives. For over sixty-four years, their lifelong commitment to each other was based on love and loyalty, with their faith providing a constant source of guidance throughout the life they built together.

Gene was a long-standing member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville, PA. He was a member of the Brookville FOE #983, the Brookville Firemen s Club, and the Clearfield-Jefferson County Airport Authority. Gene was also a lifetime member of the Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department in Brookville, PA.

In his younger years, Gene participated in numerous activities, such as softball and bowling. Gene was a person with an exceptionally strong work ethic, rising early each day to begin his tasks. He was continually active with the church and helped with the yearly festivals for over thirteen years. In his spare time, he also enjoyed farming.

Gene was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather to his family. He was always a prominent figure at his children's or grandchildren's sporting events and their biggest supporter. Gene was a gentleman who led a life marked with integrity and respect, which had a lasting impact on those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by all who dearly loved him.

In addition to his wife Mary Ann, Gene is survived by five children: Rhonda (Richard) Gagliardi of Florida, Sandra (Fred) Kinzel of North Carolina, Sue (Greg) Dinger of Brookville, PA, Patty Jo Mineweaser of Brookville, PA, Timothy (Melissa) Mineweaser of Allentown, PA; eight grandchildren: Nicholas and Hogan Gagliardi, Jessica Marshall, Ryan and Shawn Blochberger and Abby Gotwald, Hannah and Jacob Mineweaser; five great-grandchildren: Bennett Gagliardi, Tyler Austin, Mya and Ellison Blochberger, and a newborn baby, Emma Clare Gotwald; one brother, Dennis (Marsha) Mineweaser; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Mineweaser; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Mineweaser.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 2-4 p.m., followed by military honors performed by the Brookville Honor Guard. A second viewing will take place in the evening from 6-8 p.m., all at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale Road, Brookville, PA 15825.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Church, 129 Graham Ave., Brookville, PA, beginning at 11 a.m. and officiated by Father William Laska. Interment will take place privately at the St. Mary's Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale Road, Brookville, PA 15825.
