Daniel Rodgers Obituary

Daniel Thomas Rodgers, 90, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022, while a resident of the DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois, PA.

Dan was born on June 15, 1931, to the late Walter E. and Mary Mae (O'Hearn) Rodgers in Reynoldsville, PA.

He graduated from Reynoldsville Area High School with the Class of 1949. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force for four years and served active duty during the Korean War.

Dan married Mary Barbara "Barb" Wilk on November 15, 1958 in Lilly, PA; Barb survives him.

He was a member of the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Reynoldsville, PA. Dan worked as an agent for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. After retirement he was known to visit the businesses in Reynoldsville to tell a few tall tales. He was a jokester and had a great sense of humor. Dan loved growing tomatoes, playing the lottery and slot machines, watching the Indy 500, and Notre Dame football.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Joseph (Karen) Rodgers, Carol (Dana) Smith, Denise "Nish" (Ted) Palumbo, Daniel J. (Amy) Rodgers, and Mindy (Michael) Berta; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in passing by two brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandson.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 607 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851, beginning at 10 a.m. and officiated by Father William Barron. A live broadcast of the Mass will be available by visiting www.stmarysassumption.com. Full military honors will be rendered by the DuBois Area Honor Guard following the Mass. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Reynoldsville, PA.
