David Renwick Obituary

David "Guba" R. Renwick, 47, of DuBois, PA, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023, while a resident at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville, PA.

He was born on February 12, 1976, to the late Marcia Jo Perry in DuBois.

David graduated from Jeff Tech in Reynoldsville, PA, and went on to work as a chef in Florida for over 15 years. In addition to his love for the culinary arts, David was a very talented and passionate musician. He studied music at Penn State and held positions in many bands in DuBois, Florida, and Pittsburgh including ensembles like Apathetic Blues Band, Jackie's Platoon, King Bison Band, and Hard Velvet. For the last seven years David had acted as caregiver to a childhood friend. David could be called "larger than life" as he was always good at captivating people's attention and excelling in talent-based ventures. He loved to play music and sing, always seeming most comfortable behind a mic. David's passion for cooking also extended past his professional life, he was known for making delicious meals for his family, especially in celebration of holidays. He loved animals and had a special place in his heart for dogs. David was also a Pittsburgh sports fan, who enjoyed watching the three main teams; Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins, as well as Penn State on a collegiate level. David will be dearly missed by anyone whose life he touched.

David is survived by two siblings, Nathan R. (Ashley) Bowser; Kaitlynn "Katie Jo" (Nico Riccione) Bowser; one aunt, Tracy (Chris) Kovalyak; and one uncle, Michael (Judy) Perry Sr. In addition to his mother, David was preceded in passing by his maternal grandparents, Patsy (Gloria Jean) Perry; and his paternal grandmother, Donna Renwick.

Services will be held privately to the family and have been entrusted to the Snyder – d'Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851.
