Deborah Wright Obituary

Deborah "Debbie" Marie (Karetski) Wright went home to be with the Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in DuBois, Pennsylvania. She was surrounded by loving family and caring medical staff at Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was born to the late Martin Richard Karetski & Myrna Lois (Ferrell) Karetski on Wednesday, October 2, 1957, in DuBois, PA.

She is survived by four children; her son Daniel Karetski of Pittsburgh PA; three daughters, Lois Wright of Ladson, SC, Melissa Wright of Grampian, PA and Josette Wright of Grampian, PA; her spouse, Joseph Thomas Wright Sr. (separated) of Ladson, SC; four grandchildren, Joseph Helms, Maddison Sipe, Alexis Lowmaster & Vincent Thomas; brother Joseph Karetski of Reynoldsville, PA; sister Kathy (Karetski) Strouse of Reynoldsville, PA; uncle Jim Ferrell & aunt Pat Ferrell of Orlando, FL; nieces Jenn (Shaffer) McDonald of Reynoldsville, PA, Kimberly (Shaffer) McGary of Punxsutawney, PA, Amanda (Shaffer) Bundy of Penfield, PA and nephew Bruce Shaffer Jr. of Punxsutawney, PA along with many other loving family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Joseph Thomas Wright, Jr. and her sister Pamela S. (Karetski) Tobin.

She was a graduate of Jeff Tech High School in Reynoldsville, PA in 1975. Among some of her jobs, she worked for the American Red Cross & Goodwill.

She enjoyed good conversations, spoiling her cats and grandchildren, being a plant enthusiast, classic TV shows and cartoons (Phineas & Ferb), dolphins, laughing, sewing, drawing, arts and crafts, cooking, scenic rides, listening to Family Life Radio, spending time with her family, loving her children & grandchildren and loving the Lord Jesus.

She was very crafty and frugal while being able to maximize the use out of almost anything and everything. She believed and trusted in God with all her heart. She was loving, caring, helpful and giving. Over the last many years it was rare to leave her house without her giving you something. She embodied what the love of Jesus truly looks like.

In her own words, "Life is short. Live life to the fullest. Create and share memories. Don't take anything for granted. Smile Always! Be kind to one another. Help each other. Be there when needed. Love one another!"

A service to celebrate Debbie's life will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, beginning at 5:00pm. The service will be held at Gateway Church of Christ located at 1214 S. Brady St. in DuBois, PA. All friends and family are invited and encouraged to attend.

Another Sister gone before her time
Debbie, you survived breast cancer, and many other health issues, but this one you couldn't overcome.
I'll miss our communications between each other, and especially your wonderful smile. You were always filled with laughter!
No matter what you always tried to stay upbeat.
Don't get into too many arguments with Dad and Pam, enjoy your coffee/tea time with Mom, tell Joey I miss him, and give them all one of your big ole hugs for me.
Heaven has gained an Angel that is for sure
Fly high Deborah Marie, FLY HIGH!
Love ya Sis
