Diane Smith Obituary

Diane L. Smith

Diane knew everyone and everyone knew Diane, and on January 30th, 2023, she said her quickest goodbye after 66 years..

You didn't know kindness, generosity and unconditional love until you met her. Her family, neighbors, and friends growing up in DuBois and throughout her life of teaching, coaching and odd jobs, including friends of friends knew this to be true.

She will miss everyone at Penneys and the Winery because she didn't work there, she went to be with her friends because she thought of them as family.

She was welcomed lovingly by her mom and dad, Helen and Albert Rudzinski, her brother Joe Rudzinski and most importantly her COLBY.

Diane, Mom, Deed, DeeDee, Gram, Grammy, GramGram:

All of your cousins,

Your nieces and nephews: Kelly Smith, Desiree Fremer, Monica Murphy, Mckenna and Landyn Lanager,

Your mother-in-law: Virginia Smith

Your sister and brother (in-laws): Carolyn Rudzinski, Mike Rudzinski, Lisa and Chris Lanager, Dean and Wanda Smith, Michael Smith and Thom, Greg Smith

Your most favorite grandkids: Bentley, Rhyus, Hila and Teague Wilcox, Lake, Smith, and Luxe Freund, Cooper Smith and Brodey Jacobs

Your kids: Holly and Jonny Wilcox, Heidy and Derek Freund, Haley and Derek "Smacobs"

And your Gene

Will all miss you and love you so very much. We were always told how much you loved us too. You understood every single one of us and you were our glue!

If you learn anything from her, you start everyday fresh and lead with kindness. She always let us know that she loved us, and she was our #1 fan. She always said "The smile on your face is the light in the window to let everyone know you're home!"

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc.

I will always treasure my Tampa dinners with Diane when she was here to be close to her Colby. We grew to become very good friends, and I miss her visits and texts very much. Her smile and bubbly personality let you know how much she cared for you. We also miss Colby very much as well. He worked with E2 Walls for a number of years and we always enjoyed his spunk and humor (and his love for Reese peanut butter cups.) We will hold their memories close to our hears always. Please know that your family will be in our thoughts and prayers during this Christmas season.
Warmest regards, Kathy and the E2 Walls gang

Diane was a beautiful person inside and out. I grew up in the same neighborhood and have lots of memories with her and her friends. Diane and Gene have been together for a long time and he always had the cleanest vehicles to ride her around in.. They were such a nice couple, and I wanted to be like them growing up.
I always loved to talk to her and share a Hug. We both lost a child and shared the same pain. I know it was probably a wonderful reunion to see her family that have passed on.
God Bless you my dear friend and prayers to your family <3

We met Diane and the Smith family when Colby passed away. He was a cherished "family member" of E2 Walls, Inc. in Tampa, and we miss him everyday. I would join Diane for dinner on her many visits to Tampa to be close to her Colby. We so enjoyed each other's time and chats, and I will miss her dearly. We at E2Walls would like to extend our condolences and prayers to the family. May Diane's light always shine through each and every one of you.
