Doretha Delores Murray

Doretha Delores (Wiles) Murray, 100, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, while at her home surrounded by her family.

Doretha was born on October 7, 1921, to the late Charles Henry and LaRue Oma (Estes) Wiles in DuBois, PA.

Doretha attended the DuBois School District. Doretha married Perry D. Murray on May 15, 1940 in DuBois, PA; Perry preceded her in passing on November 27, 1992.

She worked for Niagara Falls Carborundum, was the supervisor of Sylvania in Brookville, and a Private Practical Nurse for the founders of Brown Boot Shop. She attended nondenominational church. Doretha loved being with her family. Especially going camping, traveling, and holding her grandbabies. She also liked to play dominos, visit with friends and family, crochet, putting puzzles together, and watching birds.

Doretha is survived by son, William P. (Georgia) Murray of Reynoldsville, PA; daughter, Lou Ann (Charlie Allender) Henry of DuBois, PA; 11 grandchildren, Bridgett Isher, Pamela Kohler, Jeffery Murray, Terry Murray, William Murray Jr., Tammy Murray, Louis Murray, Melissa Davis, Melvin Henry Jr., Dustin Henry, and Amanda Henry; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Charlotte Thrush.

In addition to her parents and husband, Doretha was preceded in passing by son, John Murray Sr.; grandson, John Murray Jr.; brother Darwin Wiles; and two sisters, Corrine Hannah and Patricia Matt.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 1-4 p.m. at the Snyder – d'Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will be held immediately following the viewing beginning at 4 p.m. Final interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
