George Forsythe Obituary

George D. Forsythe, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the DuBois Nursing Home in DuBois, PA. He was born on September 8, 1935 to the late George and Gladys (Foulks) Forsythe in Brookville, PA.

On July 30, 1957 he married his wife of almost fifty years, Alice F. (Joyner) Forsythe, who preceded him in death.

George was a welder and operated machinery for the Hanley and Bird gas company for many years. He also worked for Preston Excavating. He was a member of the Falls Creek Eagles Club #965 in Falls Creek, PA.

George had an extraordinary sense of humor. He made it his goal to always make someone smile or laugh every day. He was a great father, grandfather, and a good person all around. George enjoyed watching boxing and Pittsburgh Pirate Baseball. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting whenever he could. Above all he loved his family.

George is survived by one son; Mark (Debbie) Forsythe of Allens Mills, PA; two grandsons; Mark Forsythe Jr., and Ryan Forsythe; three great-granchildren; Alexandra, Conner, and Brianna; one brother; Jack Forsythe; three sisters; Jean Ent of Warren, PA, Ann Sarvey of Brookville, PA, and Sherry Johnson of Brookville, PA; two sisters-in-law; Ann McGranor, and Pat Bovaird; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, George is preceded in death by two brothers; Gary Forsythe, and Bob Forsythe; and two sisters; Sally Love and Ruth Richards.

In accordance with his family's wishes interment will take place at the Temple Cemetery, Warsaw Twp., Jefferson Co., PA, on September 13, 2018 at 2:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the DuBois Nursing Home, 212 S 8th St, DuBois, PA 15801.
