June Grinnen Obituary

June Arlene Grinnen (Mortimer, Richards) of DuBois, PA left this earthly life to meet her Lord on Friday, May 16, 2025.

Born on June 18, 1940, in Munderf, PA, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Beulah (Wingard) Mortimer. A graduate of Brookville Area Schools, she was a self-employed hairstylist, cafeteria employee and secretary in the Brockway Area Senior High School for many years.

On March 28, 1997, she married the love of her life, Kent F. Grinnen (deceased April 23, 2020).

She enjoyed traveling, yard sales, and keeping her yard manicured. Later in life she spent her time socializing at Parkside Senior Center and with friends and neighbors, but the joy of her life was her family. She faithfully attended Moorhead Methodist Church in Brockway, PA, until her passing.

She leaves behind three sons and six stepdaughters: David (Karen) Richards of Berwick, PA, Keith (Terry) Richards of Erie PA, and Daniel (Diane) Richards of Fogelsville, PA, Theresa DeLong of Brockway, PA, Deb (Tom Lingenfelter) Smith of Brockway, PA, Karen (late Daniel) James of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kim (Mel) Hirst of Erie, PA, Diane (Ryan) Williams of Ashburn, VA, and Cathy Grinnen of Falls Creek, PA. She also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She came from a large family and leaves behind four brothers and sisters: Donald (Nell) Mortimer, Ida (late John) Atwell, James (late Bonnie) Mortimer, and Bertha (Dick) Shaffer. She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters: William (Irma) Mortimer, Thelma (Donald) Winders, Alta (Dallas) McKendree, and Irma (Gary) Frieders.

There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of family. Burial will take place at the Zion Church Cemetery in Munderf, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation made to Moorhead Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

June was a very pleasant lady who worked diligently at her position as guidance secretary at Brockway Area High School. She was always ready to help in any manner she could. She will be missed. May God grant her eternal peace,
