Keith Heist Obituary

Keith A. Heist, 68, of Cribbs Road, Brockway, PA, died on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born on October 27, 1956, in Mechanicsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Curtis and Bernice Leathery Heist.

On June 13, 1981, he was married to Pamela Askey and she survives.

Retired, Keith was employed as the district manager at Paris in DuBois for 20 years. He attended the Tri County Church in DuBois. Keith was a student at Penn State DuBois, where he was enrolled in the Wildlife Management program. Around this same time, he felt and heard the calling to do God's service and began classes to become a minister. After receiving his credentials, he used this gift to minister to the youth at Calvary Assembly of God Church in DuBois for over 20 years. Keith had great determination to bring as many people as he could, to know Jesus Christ. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He also was an avid sports fan cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins, rooting on the Nittany Lions and especially his beloved Baltimore Orioles. He also enjoyed serving as a grandparent volunteer for the Juniata Runners Club in DuBois.

His greatest joy was in the simplest things, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was the greatest "Papa" ever! In addition to his wife, Pam, he is survived by a son, Eric (Brittney) Heist of DuBois; a daughter, Angela (Logan) Lipari of Brockway; brothers, Dennis (Rita) Heist of Wellsville, PA, Wayne (Terry) Heist of North Carolina, David (Roseanne) Heist of York, PA; grandchildren, Oliver, Lily, Zatanna, August TJ and Morgan Whitsell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 14 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechtree Cemetery.
