Kenneth Reynolds Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Dale Reynolds, 90, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021, while a patient at the Penn Highlands DuBois hospital.

He was born on August 9, 1930, to the late George I. and Laura Belle (Syphrit) Reynolds in Reynoldsville, PA.

He graduated from Reynoldsville High School with the class of 1947.

Ken married Klara Klaiber on February 20, 1960, in Punxsutawney, PA, they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage; Klara survives him. Ken honorably served his country with the United States Navy, beginning in 1951. He served 22 distinguished years as a yeoman, working directly with many high ranking officials throughout his career. When Ken retired in 1973 he held the rank of E-8 or Senior Chief Petty Officer. Ken also worked for the United States Postal Service in Reynoldsville for 17 years and retired in 1989. Ken was a member of Reynoldsville American Legion Post #392, the Reynoldsville Sportsmen's Club, and the Navy Fleet Reserve Association.

In addition to his distinguished service with the military, Ken was also a loving father and husband. He was an avid fisher and hunter, both of which he shared with his family. In addition to his other talents and achievements he also enjoyed gardening and bowling.

In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by two children, David A. Reynolds of Reynoldsville, PA and Diane E. (Mark) Hegerle of Silver Springs, MD; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in passing by five brothers: David, Max, Darwin, George, Warren; and four sisters: Ruth Diener; Josephine Isman; Thelma Mae Allshouse; and Katherine Reynolds.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, from 4-8 p.m. at the Snyder – d'Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11 a.m. and officiated by Pastor Ken Eddy. Military honors will be rendered by the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Interment will take place at Syphrit Cemetery, Winslow Township, Jefferson County, PA.
