Larry Steele Obituary

Larry Joe Steele, 67, of Brookville, Pa., passed away suddenly on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at his home in Brookville.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1948, to the late Raymond I. and Mary M. (Bussard) Steele. His mother Mary survives him. Larry was Ray and Mary's only child and he was born in Brookville, Pa.
He worked many different jobs throughout his life but primarily stayed in sales. He graduated from the Brookville Area High School and did his best to stay in contact with his friends from those years. He very much enjoyed sports and earlier in life played in softball and other sports leagues. He loved golfing and looked forward to being able to do it as the winters came to an end. Larry also enjoyed warm weather and days spent in the sun on the beach. He lived some of his time in Florida where golfing and beaches were easily accessible to him. More recently he lived back home with his mother, Mary, where they did their best to take care of each other. He had a special place in his heart for animals as well.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Scott M. Steele and Jeffrey R. Steele, both of Chicago, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received from 9 a.m. - noon Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will immediately follow at noon, also at the funeral home, with the Rev. J. Ray Baker officiating. Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Winslow Township, Jefferson County, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Rd., Falls Creek, PA 15840.
