Lou Rhed Obituary
Born on April 15, 1954 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jack Ward and Isabelle (Tami) Ward.
On September 14, 1974, she married her husband of 48 years, James Rhed. He survives.
Lou Ann worked at Brockway Glass retiring after 38 years of service.
She is survived by her sons Brian Rhed (Christa Fritz) of Kersey and Matthew Rhed (Nicole) of Brockport and a daughter Melissa Thompson (Dennis) also of Brockport. She was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren; Taylor and Brynley Rhed; Landon, Ella and Brayden Thompson; Ashden and Makaela Barefield. She is also survived by two brothers, Jack (Lisa) Ward and Nick Ward, four sisters Joyce Romero, Peg (Donald) Frechione, Patricia (Jack) Coyle and Tina (Jim) Dennison. Lou Ann's greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her daily calls with her siblings and continuing family traditions. She always looked forward to her yearly trip to Vegas with the "Girls." Her sense of humor and witty way will be missed by all.
Friends will be received from 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 7 at the Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway, PA, with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Andrew Verner officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Back Pack Program at the Brockway School District, 40 North St., Brockway, PA 15824 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
The Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway is handling the arrangements.
