While the miles and distance have kept us from daily communications, I truly feel the loss of such a longtime acquaintance, fellow fireman, and friend. As a fellow member, as well as a former Secretary of J.E. DuBois Hose Company No. 3, Marty was superb at his duties, and dedicated to being the best he could be. I relocated to Florida some 36 years ago, but, whenever I visited DuBois, somehow, someway, usually at the hose house, our paths always seemed to cross, and we would enjoy a brief visit, and reminisce about the days gone by, and the people we knew and had known. Please know Marty was without a doubt one of the premier individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Our world is most definitely a better place for him having been here. I shall miss seeing and visiting with him on my returns back to DuBois. My my prayers are with you all.
