Mike Buttrill Obituary

Mike Lee Buttrill, 65, of DuBois, died Monday, September 16, 2024 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.

Born in 1959 in Denton, TX, he was the son of the late Wilbur D. and Ruth (Faught) Buttrill.

In 1982 he married his high school sweetheart and wife of 42 years, Julie (Boyce) Buttrill. She survives.

From a young age Mike possessed the drive to excel. In little league baseball he pitched a no hitter. In high school he was first chair alto sax and won districts in Tennis. Mike graduated from Denton High School in 1977, received a diploma for Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in 1981 in Electrical Engineering. Mike received his MBA from the University of North Texas in 1993. He completed a graduate work/study Global Marketing program through the University of New Hampshire in conjunction with BAE in 1997. He worked in robotics, manufacturing and finance throughout his adult life. Mike was a world traveler. He loved Cowboy Football, Stars Hockey, golf, backyard pit fires, his family and his granddaughter Chyanne. He treated people with respect and lived his life well, with honor and dignity. We were so very lucky to have him in our lives. Mike will be missed terribly.

Mike is survived by his two sons (Miles David Buttrill and his wife Kayla of Dover, PA, and Grant Michael Buttrill of DuBois, PA), and one grandchild (Chyanne K. Buttrill).

He was preceded in death by three sisters (Linda Little, Joyce Parrish, and Jane Rollin).

There will be no public visitation and a service will be held at the convenience of the family.
