Patricia C. "Patty" Shreckengost

1963 - 2015

Patricia "Patty" C. (Shaffer) Shreckengost, 52, Punxsutawney, went to be with the Lord after an intense battle with cancer on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at UPMC Hamot in Erie, with her loving children at her side.
She was born on Aug. 18, 1963, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Billy M. and Ethel W. (Goodheart) Shaffer.
She was married to her husband of 33 years, Robert Lynn Shreckengost, who survives.
Surviving relatives include a son, Gabriel Lynn Shreckengost; a daughter, Ivy Noel Shreckengost of Punxsutawney; three brothers, Robert W. Shaffer and wife Diane of Punxsutawney, Kenneth A. Shaffer and wife Stella of Porter, and Raymond E. Shaffer and wife Melinda of Worthville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, a brother, Richard M. Shaffer of Rossiter, preceded her in death.
Patty was an active member of the Punxsutawney Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for 22 years. She was employed at Marion Center Bank as Assistant Vice President and Loan Officer, and was part of the banking industry for more than 26 years. In addition, she was actively involved in the local community and various volunteer organizations.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at the Punxsutawney Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with Pastors John Buchman and David Stonebraker officiating.
