Dannie Ray Poe, 69, of New Castle passed away Sunday March 13, 2022 at Henry Community Health. He was born in Monticello, KY on February 18, 1953, as son of the late Chester Ernest Poe and Lela Bell Raines.
Dannie was a believer in the Lord and placed all his trust in Him. He was a member of the Whittier Lane Baptist Church. Dannie loved his family especially his nieces and nephews, often times taking them with him on vacation travels, which he enjoyed.
Dannie is survived by his sister, Wanda Neal of Monticello, KY; sister-in-law, Connie Poe of New Castle; nephews, Rondal Poe of New Castle and Michael (Mandy) Poe of New Castle; nieces, Karen (Aaron) Floyd of Bronston, KY and Katelyn (John) Koepf of Muscle Shoals, AL; 4 great nephews, 8 great nieces, 3 great great nieces and 1 great great nephew to arrive in August.
In addition to his parents, Dannie was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Poe and an infant sister.
Services will be held at 11:00am Friday March 18, 2022 at the Whittier Lane Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Kepple officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday March 17, 2022 from 6:00pm- 8:00pm at HInsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
