Guss Stephen Esham, age 80, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Thursday October 28, 2021. He was born on July 11, 1941 to the late Homer Esham and Esther Thompson.
Guss was a graduate of Chrysler High School class of 1959. He was a long time resident of Springport. He served in the US Army and Reserves. He married the late Carolynn Sue Baganz in 1963. He worked at Delco Remy in Anderson as a tool maker, a job he loved and retired in 1993. He was a man of many interests including line dancing, riding and restoring bicycles and collecting vintage tools. He belonged to The Eagles Lodge and K&C Muncie Line Dancers. He cherished his family and loved to spend time with his line dancing friends.
Left to cherish his memory include his children, Maurice (Reece) Esham (Erin Baumgardt) of Muncie, IN and Alicia R. Esham of New Castle, IN; three sisters, Nancy Esham of Richmond, IN., Priscilla Campbell of Bloomington, IN., Lisa Esham of Richmond, IN; grandchildren, Carlina Bitette of Muncie, IN., Devon Esham of New Castle, IN., Kaitlin Esham of New Castle, IN., four great grandchildren, and a special beloved friend, Pat Rollins of Muncie, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a younger sister.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021 at Macer-Hall- Marcum Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad St., New Castle with Pastor Matthew Masko officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service from 10:00 – 12:00. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Springport IN. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Memorial contributions may be offered to Forest Park Senior Citizens Center, Muncie, IN or the American Cancer Society. Funeral directors and staff are honored to serve the Esham family. Online condolences may be made at www.macerhall.com.
