Jo Clair Johnson, 93, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, June 19, 2025.
She was born in Hagerstown of July 28, 1931 to Oliver and Mabel (Baney) Rhodes and was a life long Hagerstown resident.
Jo was a member of Hagerstown First United Methodist Church. She had been employed at Farm Bureau, Crosley, Beachler Furniture, Wilkinson Chevrolet and TEDCO. She was a 1949 graduate of Hagerstown High School. She was a member of American Legion Post 333 Auxiliary and a member of Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include her daughter, Patti King (Rick); 4 grandchildren, Matthew Ramey (Kimberly), Joshua Boyd (Elizabeth), Kristina Noaks (Chango) and Kody King (Katrina); 11 great-grandchildren, Brandon Ramey (Megan), Heather Waltz (Jake), Jessica Ramey, Kristen Johnson, Caleb Boyd, Chylee Boyd, Christian Boyd, Jazmyn Noaks, Gunnar Napier, Joscelyn Napier and Hadley King; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Athena Waltz, McKenna Waltz, Kolton Johnson and Oakes Lawson; a sister, Virginia Ozbun.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Shorty" Johnson and 4 siblings, Rosita Fowler, Thomas Rhodes, Jean McLemore and Jane Smith.
Visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM on Thursday, June 26, at Culberson Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1 PM. Pastor Nate Eckert will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
