Margaret M."Peggy" Wilkinson, 87, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Henry Community Health in New Castle. She was born April 19, 1935 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Marc and Janet (Loer) Swinford.
Margaret was a 1953 graduate of Spiceland High School. She was a 55 year member of Cadiz Christian Church, and was a very faithful Godly woman. Margaret was a bookkeeper for many years. She was the kindest person, loved everyone and would give the shirt off of her back. She loved working puzzle books, enjoyed her cats and watching old TV shows.
Survivors include her children, Alice Wilkinson of New Castle, Catherine (Kevin) Wilkinson Powell of Greenfield and Jerold (Lynda) Wilkinson of New Castle; grandchildren, Tessa (Landon) Tuttle, Ginger Wilkinson, Ruth Wilkinson and Tara Powell; sister, Marti Applegate of Indianapolis and a brother, Tom Swinford of Lafayette.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Wade Wilkinson; and two brothers, Peter Swinford and Dan Swinford.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Kevin Powell and Jeff Johnson. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. You may express condolences or share a memory of Margaret at www.hinsey-brown.com.
